ISMAA – Indonesia Ship Manning Agents Association is a registered and legal non profit organization which established by some ship manning agents in Indonesia on 06^th April 2015

The aim of ISMAA establishment that the organization wants to participate to establish professional ship manning agents, legal, giving contribution to the Country, having good reputation, safe, law-abiding (national & international), sustainable, high concern to sailors and provide the best services to ship owners.

The organization has minimum standard of sailor wages and agency fees to avoid unfair competition. Dumping is strongly prohibited by organization.

The continues improvements would be always done by the organization to meet the satisfaction of shipowners and sailors. In this matter, the programs of training and development (management, etc) against members would be done to achieve professional ship manning agents.

The organization invites all Associations of Ship Manning Agents around the World to establish an International Association of Ship Manning Agents so that the interests of stakeholders (Shipowners-Manning Agents-Sailors) goes well, balanced, fair, accountable and harmonic.

7.   To collaborate with Indonesian government and related institutions

8.   To collaborate with Ship Manning Agents Associations in other countries, International Shipowners Associations and International Seaman Unions.

9.   To invite ship manning agents in other countries to establish International Ship Manning Agents Association.

HISTORY

ISMAA – Indonesia Ship Manning Agents Association was established to comply with Indonesian Government Regulations :

a.  Undang-undang Pelayaran No.17/2008 (Shipping Laws)

b. Peraturan Pemerintah No.20/2010 (Government Regulations concerning Transportation on Water)

c. Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan No. PM.84/2013 (Transport Ministry Regulations concerning Recruitment and Placement of Indonesian Seafarers)

discussed how to comply with above regulations and how to arrange new license of ship manning agent. The meeting decided to establish Indonesia Ship Manning Agents Association (ISMAA) on 06 April 2015.

After government issued approval of association establishment, all members (6 companies) arranged and delivered all necessary documents to Directorate of Sea Communication (Transport Ministry) to apply for license of ship manning agency. And the licenses were approved and delivered by Directorate of Sea Communication to all members on 23 August 2016.
